        1、申请人参加了美国数学协会举办的数学建模比赛，以及跨学科建模比赛，并为此废寝忘食的与团队成员合作挑战20xx最具难度的建模难题。申请人附上了该题目和自己团队长达21页的解决方案和摘要。因为这项竞赛规格非常高，难度很大，并且来自全世界的高校的上百个团队报名参赛，申请人表示，在比赛中体现出的强大的计量和建模能力能够帮助申请人在该校更好地学习。

        2、申请人更新了自己的简历，增加了最近在一所中国领先的金融机构实习的经历，并积累了在收集宏观经济信息、研究政府经济和金融政策的影响方面的经验。申请人在简历中突出显示了该项实习，并进一步具体指出了该项实习在简历中的位置。

        3、申请人提供了2封额外的推荐信，一封来自大学的导师，另一封来自之前的雇主。这两封推荐信可以就申请人在学校的学习和在一份实习中承担的责任作出更详尽的说明。申请人提供了两位推荐人的邮箱，并催促学校尽快发送推荐邀请给他们，因为对材料的审核就快开始了。

Several weeks ago, I received the Admissions Office’s message asking me to confirm my willingness to remain on the waiting list of XX Graduate School of Business for the entering class of the Full-Time MS Finance. Having confirmed my willingness to remain on the waiting list, I have been thinking about what I can update to strengthen my potential candidacy. As a matter of fact, since the beginning of this year, I have been doing a lot of things relevant to my proposed MS Finance program and now I would like to provide three important updates which, I understand, will be forwarded to the members of the Admissions Committee so that they would be assisted in forming the final decision regarding my application. The three said updates are as follows:

• ●   My participation in the American MCM (The Mathematical Contest in Modeling)
•      and ICM (The Interdisciplinary Contest in Modeling) organized by The Mathematical
       Association of America, during which I worked tirelessly for three days and nights
       (with very limited time for sleep), together with two other team members, to work
       out the most challenging modeling problem for the year 20xx—“Modeling For
       Crime Busting”. I have attached a PDF of the origin modeling problem， as well as
       the 21-page problem solution and summary, also in the form of a PDF. The contests
       require an extremely high level of skill in mathematical modeling and hundreds of
       teams from universities around the world took part in the contests. The quantitative
       and modeling skills required by the contest would be highly relevant to my future
       finance study, which necessarily involves advanced quantitative and modeling skills.
  
  

• ●  An updated Resume showing a new and recent internship at a leading financial
       institution in China where I have been accumulating important experiences in
       gathering macroeconomic information and examining the impact of government
       policies on economic and financial performance, which can better prepare me for
       your program and for my future career. The updated information about his recent
       internship is indicated by a box, and listed as the third entry under the heading
      “Internship History & Development of Practical Skills”.

• ●  Two additional recommendation letters, one from one of my instructors at my
       university and another one from my former employer of
       internship—PricewaterhouseCoopers （PWC）. Those two additional
       recommendations can provide further information concerning my academic
       performance and the responsibilities I performed and the achievements I made
