Saïd Business School blends the best of new and old. A young, vibrant, and innovative business school that’s embedded in an 800 year old world-class university. It’s a place where we study how successful businesses appreciate the rules of the game - written and unwritten, but then we study how they can create new games altogether - through entrepreneurship, innovation, and huge infrastructure programmes. As a part of Oxford, we don’t just talk about how business interacts with the broader world, but we experience it as we engage with Oxford colleagues from many other backgrounds and with the broader business community.

Tackling Big Problems

Saïd Business School is fully integrated into one of the world’s greatest universities. This allows us to draw on Oxford’s strengths across a range of subjects, including economics, law, sociology, psychology, politics and international relations. Some of these interactions are informal, while others are formalised, whether in the Oxford Man Institute, or the Oxford Centre for Entrepreneurship and Innovation. The problems and opportunities facing business are large and complex, and by teaming up with functional specialists from around the University, we can gain greater insights into issues such as the politics of global business, the regulation of the financial service sector, the rise of science entrepreneurship, and the management of innovation.

Global Insights and Community

Saïd Business School students, Executive Education participants, and faculty hail from over 50 countries, and our Executive Education is carried out at Oxford and around the globe. Our faculty and students can be found in Oxford, or in many parts of the world. Our research, our classrooms, and our community are global , where people from all different backgrounds are welcomed.

Through College affiliations, our faculty and degree students interact with people studying law, medicine, science, the humanities, and on. Depth and Breadth

As a major business school, Saïd Business School has capabilities in all of the core aspects of business. For example, you will find world-class education in finance and strategy, as well as an extensive set of activities around entrepreneurship. In addition, through the individual work of the faculty, and in some cases through Centres and specialised degree programs, we provide extraordinary depth in particular areas. For example, the Skoll Centre for Social Entrepreneurship organises a large number of activities for students, and hosts the annual Skoll World Forum, where social entrepreneurs from around the world congregate. The Oxford University Centre for Business Taxation is the leading center for the study of business tax. The BT Centre for Major Programme Management, and the affiliated Masters in Major Programme Management degree, provide specialist training in managing huge economy-changing projects. The Private Equity Institute, highly-ranked Masters in Financial Economics programme, and our new Masters of Law and Finance programme (run in conjunction with the law faculty) provide tremendous depth in those areas.

Ultimately, business schools have to produce excellent ideas, deliver excellent education, and reach out to the broader world.
